Mollie Friedlander, from Del Mar, California, is pursuing an MD and a PhD in developmental biology at Stanford School of Medicine. She graduated summa cum laude from Bowdoin College with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and neuroscience. She aspires to a career as aphysician-scientist, practicing pediatric endocrinology and heading a laboratory. Mollie was a teaching assistant in clinical skills at Stanford Medical School, and has held research positions at Bowdoin, Stanford, and Boston Children’s Hospital. While working at the Scripps Research Institute, she presented research on dystrophin at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. She spent a year abroad as a Fulbright fellow teaching English in Madrid, and received a Howard Hughes Medical Institute research fellowship.
