Nikhil Gupta

Nikhil Gupta, from Bethesda, Maryland, is pursuing a master’s degree in business administration at Stanford Graduate School of Business and a master's degree in environment and resources at the new Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University, earning his bachelor’s degree from the Krieger School and his master’s degree. from the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). The son of Indian immigrants, Nikhil aspires to alleviate income inequality by exploring new, more equitable business models that better empower employees and customers. Before Stanford, Nikhil served as the managing director of Thread, a Baltimore nonprofit facilitating relationships between at-promise young people and volunteers to build a more equitable community. Nikhil also founded Stonewall Sports Baltimore, a nonprofit using social sports to strengthen Baltimore’s LGBTQ community. With a background in economic development, Nikhil’s past work includes global child labor research for the US government, emerging markets analysis for RockCreek, administering a national development program in Indonesia with the Millennium Challenge Corporation, and managing Maryland’s volunteer operation for Hillary’s 2016 campaign.
