Nima Dahir

Nima Dahir, from Columbus, Ohio, is pursuing a PhD in sociology at the Stanford School of Humanities and Sciences. She graduated summa cum laude from Ohio State University (OSU) with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and economics. As an analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, she worked within the microeconomic division. Nima is a co-founder and board member of Refuge, an organization centered on mentoring young adult refugees. At OSU, she conducted an independent three-year economics research project on how optimism may affect the willingness of an individual to take out a loan. She won the Beinecke Scholarship, and was named a Resolution Fellow from the Clinton Global Initiative Conference.
