Rebeca Costa

Rebeca Costa, from Lima, Peru, is pursuing a master’s degree in global and comparative education at Stanford Graduate School of Education. She was the valedictorian of her psychology cohort at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. Rebeca aspires to compare rural education systems and design frameworks that support continuity, smooth transitions, and diverse student trajectories. For two years, she has worked on rural education projects at the Group for the Analysis of Development, conducting fieldwork in Peru’s Andean and Amazonian regions in collaboration with the Inter-American Development Bank, Porticus, and Old Dart Foundation. In collaboration with the UNESCO Institute for Statistics, Rebeca produced recommendations for improving data reporting from the Global South for Sustainable Development Goal 4.1.1. (Education). She has received several awards, including recognition for research and academic excellence. Rebeca is also a certified crisis-response agent, a “sort-of” poet, and a devoted cat owner.
