Rodrigo Ruz, from Querétaro, México, is pursuing a master's degree in electrical engineering at Stanford School of Engineering. He earned a bachelor's degree in engineering physics at Tecnológico de Monterrey, where he was part of EagleX Robotics, the first Latin-American team to participate in the University Rover Challenge final. Rodrigo co-founded CAPTEC, an engineering community selected as a partner organization to the Nobel-Prize winning Hyper-Kamiokande experiment. In CAPTEC, he led a research collaboration to design a low-cost particle accelerator for portable breast cancer radiotherapy. His publication on operation voltage reduction for insulator-based microfluidics was selected as part of the themed collection Lab on a Chip HOT Articles 2021. Rodrigo then co-founded Dook, an intern recruitment service that helps students gain hands-on work experience. He also worked at ClimateAi, a startup helping organizations build their climate resilience in supply chains. He is recipient of the 2021 Romulo Garza Prize for excellence in research.
