Ronan Wallace

Ronan Wallace, from Vancouver, Washington, and Stuttgart, Germany, is pursuing a master’s degree in computer science at Stanford School of Engineering. He graduated summa cum laude from Macalester College as a QuestBridge scholar, earning his bachelor’s degree with departmental honors in computer science. Ronan is a computer engineer exploring 3D imaging and sensor systems for environmental monitoring, cultural preservation, and social impact. He aspires to democratize 3D and 4D computer vision for communities worldwide impacted by climate change. As a Fulbright research scholar in Nepal, his research leverages 3D computer vision and empathy to document climate disasters, vulnerable heritage, and lived experiences. Targeting land and climate injustice, Ronan collaborates with displaced communities to inform local policy and request relief aid. He was named a Changemaker of 2023 by the School for International Training and was a U.S. National Science Foundation Research Experiences for Undergraduates, DAAD Research Internships in Science and Engineering Germany, Jan Serie, and Alice Rowan Swanson fellow.
