Shirin Abrishami Kashani

Shirin Abrishami Kashani, from Düsseldorf, Germany, is pursuing an MA in international policy and a PhD in political science at Stanford School of Humanities and Sciences. She earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich, and a master’s degree in refugee and forced migration studies from the University of Oxford. Shirin aspires to help create fair migration systems and integration policies promoting inclusion and equality for immigrants, refugees and their children. Following her graduate studies, she worked as a junior analyst for the International Migration Division at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Previously she interned at the United Nations Human Rights Council and supported election campaigns for the Social Democratic Party of Germany. She was named an ERP Scholar of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation, a Carlo-Schmid Fellow, and a Fellow of the Friedrich-Ebert Foundation.
