Co-founder and Chief Growth Officer, Amae Health

Sonia Garcia

KHS alumna (2018 cohort)

Sonia Garcia is the co-founder and Chief Growth Officer of Amae Health, a company delivering integrated, team-based care for individuals with severe mental illness. Her dedication to transforming mental health care is rooted in personal experience—after losing her father to suicide at 16 and supporting her brother through a diagnosis of schizoaffective disorder, Sonia committed herself to building more compassionate, equitable systems of care.

Sonia began her career as a healthcare strategy consultant at Accenture, advising leading health systems and payers on innovation and operational transformation. She later helped build Brightline, the nation’s first digital pediatric behavioral health company, before co-founding Amae Health to address the needs of high-acuity adult populations.

A proud member of the inaugural class of Knight-Hennessy Scholars, Sonia earned her M.S. in Engineering Design Impact from Stanford University’s d.school, where her thesis focused on human-centered innovation in mental health. She holds a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Rice University.

Sonia was named to Business Insider’s 30 under 40 in Healthcare and Inc.’s 2025 Female Founders list. She continues to advance the future of behavioral health through empathetic leadership, systems innovation, and a steadfast commitment to quality care.
