Soudaba Wahabzada, from Herat, Afghanistan, is pursuing an LLM at Stanford Law School. She was valedictorian at the American University of Afghanistan, where she graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of laws degree; she also holds a master of public administration from City University of New York. Soudaba aspires to explore the interplay between corporate law, business ethics, and the multifaceted dynamics of the global economy. Motivated by a commitment to mitigate the gender disparities within the legal profession, she envisions leveraging her extensive legal education and practical skills cultivated in the United States to establish a law firm in Afghanistan. Prior to her academic pursuits in the U.S, Soudaba collaborated with international organizations, including the United Nations, on initiatives related to the rule of law, access to justice, peacebuilding, and women’s empowerment. Soudaba is a recipient of the Fulbright Scholarship, Hagedorn Scholar Award, and Women in Conflict Fellowship.
