Taylor Harris

Taylor Harris, from Des Moines, Washington, is pursuing an MD at Stanford School of Medicine and MBA at Stanford Graduate School of Business. Graduating with distinction with a bachelor’s degree in biomechanical engineering from Stanford University, Taylor received the Frederick E. Terman Engineering Scholastic Award and the Stanford STEM Fellow Award, and was Tau Beta Pi. As an undergraduate, she was a researcher in the Bertozzi bioorthogonal chemistry laboratory, worked as an analyst intern at healthcare consulting firm Health Advances, volunteered at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, and also won four national championships as a varsity member of the Stanford Women’s Lightweight Rowing team. Taylor is first author of an article in Annals of Biomedical Engineering, “The Shrinking Brain: Cerebral Atrophy Following Traumatic Brain Injury,” which outlines and implements a computer simulation of brain atrophy in response to traumatic brain injury. She has also volunteered abroad through Child Family Health International in Ecuador and Mexico. Taylor’s passion for cutting edge technologies in cancer treatment guide her aspirations to not only pursue oncology and bioinformatics, but also help make relevant technologies available to underserved minority populations.
