Tristan Jafari

Tristan Jafari, from Mukilteo, Washington, and Germany, is pursuing an MD at Stanford School of Medicine. He graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Washington with a degree in biochemistry and has earned a master’s of philosophy in population health sciences from the University of Cambridge. Tristan aspires to become a physician-leader advancing preventive medicine by integrating lifestyle health, clinical care, and health system design. He founded the University of Washington Emergency Medical Services  and the MedReport Foundation and has worked as a medical scribe and an EMT. He has collaborated on public health and health policy projects within the National Academy of Medicine and American Red Cross. His research ranges from the mechanisms underlying cardiometabolic disease to the application of artificial intelligence in medicine. Tristan is a recipient of the Truman Scholarship and the Gates-Cambridge Scholarship.
