Venny Kojouharov

Venny Kojouharov, from Mansfield, Texas, is pursuing a PhD in mechanical engineering at Stanford School of Engineering. He graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a minor in computer science. Venny aspires to combine the fields of robotics, ecology, and sustainability to design robots that safely interact with the natural world and can aid in disaster relief. He has conducted research in bio-inspired robotics at Georgia Tech, Harvard University, and ETH Zurich, and his work has been published in journals such as Science Robotics and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Venny is also excited about using bio-inspired design in education, and he has helped start and organize outreach programs for Atlanta middle schools and the Atlanta Zoo. He is a recipient of the Stamps President’s Scholarship, Goldwater Scholarship, Astronaut Scholarship, and ThinkSwiss Research Scholarship.
