Victoria Kyveryga

2024 Cohort

Ames, Iowa, United States

Victoria Kyveryga, from Ames, Iowa, is pursuing a PhD in materials science and engineering at Stanford School of Engineering. Victoria graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and chemical engineering. She aspires to apply defect-property relationships in semiconducting materials toward improving energy transmittance efficiency. As an undergraduate, she studied structure-property connections in inorganic materials for applications in energy conversion. She explored various materials chemistry research initiatives through Ames National Lab (a U.S. Department of Energy National Laboratory), Seagate Technology, and two National Science Foundation Materials Research Science and Engineering Centers. She was also an undergraduate research ambassador, president of the Ukrainian Club, and co-president of the Engineering Student Council at Iowa State. Victoria was awarded the Goldwater Scholarship and the American Chemical Society Undergraduate Award in Inorganic Chemistry, and was named one of 35 Voices of Materials Chemistry by the Chemistry of Materials journal.
