
Yael Mittelman

Yael Mittelman, from Kfar Saba, Israel, is pursuing an LLM in law, science, and technology at Stanford Law School. She earned her bachelor of laws with a minor in political science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Yael aspires to shape policies that address the challenges the digital age poses to democratic institutions. Before Stanford, she worked as a research associate at the Israel Democracy Institute, where she specialized in media and technology regulation, freedom of expression, and journalistic ethics. She is the co-author of a book on media law and taught an undergraduate course based on it. As a clerk for the Parliamentary Solicitor General, Yael assisted in representing Parliament in constitutional petitions before the Supreme Court of Israel. She subsequently worked as an associate under the head of litigation at a leading Israeli law firm.
