Yann Dubois

Yann Dubois, from Lausanne, Switzerland is pursuing a PhD in computer science at Stanford School of Engineering. He earned a bachelor's degree in bioengineering from Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne, an MPhil in machine learning from the University of Cambridge, and an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Residency from Facebook AI Research. Yann aspires to ensure that AI can be applied for social good. His research specifically centers around improving the effectiveness and robustness of AI when the amount of available data and resources is scarce.  Previously, he worked for Grab in Singapore where he developed an algorithm impacting 40 million people to analyse text in underresearched languages such as Thai, Khmer, and Burmese. Yann has also applied AI to decrease the carbon footprint of universities in Vancouver and to understand deadly medical conditions.
