Yina Sun

Yina Sun, from Bar Harbor, Maine, is pursuing a JD at Stanford Law School. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with degrees in economics and environmental science. She is also pursuing an MBA at Harvard Business School. Yina aspires to advance the clean energy transition by deploying renewable energy technologies at scale. For her undergraduate thesis, she developed capabilities for a power systems model that simulates the Western U.S. electricity grid under climate extremes, which was published in the journal Environmental Modelling & Software. Yina co-founded an international award-winning cleantech startup in Kenya that produced and distributed biofuels to households and institutions. She also worked at NextEra Energy, where she originated and developed some of the largest renewable energy projects in the Northeast United States and led the build-out of a joint-venture business to enable renewable infrastructure investments in the rural Southeast.
