Yotam Turiel

Yotam Turiel, from Kfar Saba, Israel, is pursuing a master’s degree in business administration at Stanford Graduate School of Business. An avid surfer, his connection to the ocean led him to the Israeli Naval Academy, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Haifa, graduating as Cadet of Excellence. Yotam is passionate about ocean sustainability, and aims to develop cutting-edge technologies for marine conservation, focusing on plastic removal, carbon storage, and sustainable food production. He served as a submarine officer and deputy commander, leading high-stakes missions and driving fleet-wide innovations. His leadership earned him the Fleet Commander’s and Northern Naval Arena Commander’s Excellence Awards. Beyond his naval career, Yotam volunteers as a surfing instructor for individuals with disabilities, sharing his passion for the ocean and helping others experience the freedom of the waves. He loves to travel and is always searching for new adventures and surf spots.
