Ben Teasdale, from Burlington, Vermont, is pursuing an MD at Stanford School of Medicine. He graduated from the University of Vermont (UVM) with a bachelor’s degree in bio chemistry, and studied at the University of Cambridge for a master’s degree in health, medicine, and society. Ben aspires to a career as a doctor, focused on healthcare, research, and physician authorship. Through a Fulbright scholarship, he spent a year teaching English at a government school in Nepal. At UVM, he was a researcher in neurobiology and pathology, a clinical research assistant, and president of MEDVIDA, a group focused on medicine, education, and development. He received a Gates Cambridge Scholarship, a Fulbright US Student Award, UVM’s FT Kidder Medal, the Robert Woodworth Award for biochemistry, and the Donald C. Gregg Award for excellence in the study of organic chemistry.
