Brooke Krajancich, from Perth, Australia, is pursuing a PhD in electrical engineering at Stanford School of Engineering. She earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and mathematics from the University of Western Australia (UWA) in Perth. With an interest in the intersection of computational displays and human perception, she envisions working on the development of next-generation augmented reality systems to enable applications in medicine, education, and communication. At UWA, she worked at BRITElab on a team of students, postgraduate staff, and medical professionals, testing and collecting data on an intra-operative imaging technique to assist in breast cancer surgery. She was named a 2016 Google Anita Borg Scholar for women in technology, and has a pending patent for a motion-correction algorithm.
