Hayley Raquer, from Federal Way, Washington, is pursuing a PhD in immunology at Stanford School of Medicine. She graduated from Santa Clara University (SCU) with a bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in biotechnology. Hayley plans to pursue a career in immunology research, hoping to work on models and pathways that are implicated in diseases that affect women. She was an IRTA post baccalaureate research fellow at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. She interned at the Forgotten Diseases Research Foundation, was a lab manager and molecular biology research assistant at SCU, was the president and founder of SCU Women in STEM, and has had papers published in the Journal of Rare Diseases and The NIH Catalyst. She received the St. Clare Medal, the highest award at SCU for a female graduating senior, and the Gerald and Sally DeNardo Senior Prize in Science Research.
