Juan Manuel Zambrano, from Tunja, Colombia, is pursuing a PhD in biomedical informatics at Stanford School of Medicine. He graduated summa cum laude from the Universidad de los Andes with a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering, and a medical degree. Juan Manuel co-founded the healthcare technology startup NeuroNaptic, designed to improve patient-doctor interaction in Colombia. At Universidad de los Andes, he was a teaching assistant in a variety of courses, a researcher in the School of Medicine, and a three-time recipient of the Ramon de Zubiria Award for highest department GPA.
