Eugene Awori, from Bungoma, Kenya, is pursuing a master’s degree in business administration at Stanford Graduate School of Business. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Nairobi with a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science and is a member of the UK’s Institute & Faculty of Actuaries. He aspires to run a financial advisory firm with a focus on helping African governments to efficiently structure and fund infrastructure projects. As a financial analyst at the International Finance Corporation in London, he helped the World Bank’s private sector arm to raise affordable capital for infrastructure projects, financial institutions and corporates in sub-Saharan Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Previously, he worked as an investment associate at Centum Investment Company Ltd. in Nairobi, where he was the lead analyst on the development of thermal and geothermal power plants under Private-Public Partnerships.
