Sam Cree

Sam Cree, from Brisbane, Australia, is pursuing a PhD in physics at Stanford School of Humanities and Sciences. He graduated from the University of Queensland (UQ) with a bachelor’s degree in physics, and from the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics with a master’s degree in theoretical physics. Sam aspires to develop his knowledge of quantum gravity and condensed matter physics to help advance our knowledge of the universe. He interned at IMC Financial Markets, was president of UQ’s Physics Society, and has held several mentorship roles. He received the Future Superstar Award from the Faculty of Science at UQ, and the Bok Prize from the Astronomical Society of Australia for his undergraduate thesis. Sam is also interested in scientific outreach, having volunteered with UQ’s Science Demo Troupe, Let’s Talk Science, and the Perimeter Institute’s Outreach team.
