Benj Wollant, from Bozeman, Montana, is pursuing a PhD in electrical engineering at Stanford School of Engineering. He graduated from St. Olaf College with a bachelor’s degree in physics and mathematics. Benj aspires to research, develop and translate novel biomedical technologies for human health. He has conducted research in proton therapy at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich as the recipient of a Fulbright grant, and therapeutic ultrasound in the BADER Lab at the University of Chicago through an AAPM summer undergraduate fellowship. As vice president of the St. Olaf Society for Physics Students, he founded and led an after-school Rube Goldberg machine club for elementary students. With the St. Olaf Band, Benj was a four-year member, two-year co-principal flutist, student manager, and tour soloist.
