Tania Fabo, from Saugus, Massachusetts, is pursuing an MD and a PhD in cancer biology at Stanford School of Medicine. She graduated from Harvard University with a bachelor's degree in human developmental and regenerative biology, and earned master's degrees in medical anthropology and oncology from the University of Oxford. As a physician-scientist, Tania aspires to explore the intersections of health disparities work and cancer biology research, and to more broadly incorporate matters of social justice into scientific research. She has performed cancer research in labs at Harvard University, Boston Children's Hospital, University of Michigan, and University of Oxford. At Harvard, she created the first annual Black Health Matters Conference and served as president of the Harvard Society of Black Scientists and Engineers. She is a Rhodes Scholar, a John Harvard Scholar, and a recipient of the Julia Shaffner Prize and Celebration of Black Women Award at Harvard.
