Natalie Schieuer, from Walton, Nebraska, is pursuing a master’s degree in materials science and engineering at Stanford School of Engineering. She graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a Spanish minor. Natalie’s research interests are sustainable materials and renewable energy technologies. As a Trident Scholar and Bowman Scholar, Natalie researched applications of piezoelectric materials to wireless power transfer with the Army Research Laboratory. She studied in Spain at the Spanish Naval Academy, served as a Naval Academy Foreign Affairs Conference moderator, the 7th Company Commander, 2nd Battalion Operations Officer, Catholic Midshipman Club VP, and Regimental Honor and Character Officer. She participated on the USNA Endurance Team, competing in Washington DC’s Marine Corps Marathon, White Lake Half IronMan in NC, and other events. With the USNA Gospel Choir, she performed in Miami, Maryland, Virginia and at the Army-Navy football game.
