Summer Shaw, from Los Angeles, California, is pursuing a JD at Stanford Law School and a master’s degree in business administration at Stanford Graduate School of Business. She graduated from Princeton University with a bachelor’s degree in public policy. Summer aspires to build a zero-emissions future by facilitating public-private collaboration on climate change. Previously, Summer led COVID-19 response and vaccine analytics, first for Governor Parson in Missouri and then for Governor Cuomo in New York. In New York, she also worked with unions, environmental justice advocates, utilities, and other public-private stakeholders to craft a plan to achieve 100% clean power by 2040 and net-zero emissions by 2050. Summer started her career in the private sector, advising large companies on strategy at McKinsey & Co. and scaling early-stage climate technologies at X, Alphabet’s moonshot factory. Summer received a State of Missouri Governor’s Proclamation for her critical contribution to Missouri’s COVID response.
