Aviad Lengo

2022 Cohort

Aviad Lengo, from Kiryat Gat, Israel, is pursuing an MS in aeronautics and astronautics and an MS in management science and engineering at Stanford School of Engineering. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. Aviad aspires to research, develop, and commercialize innovative autonomous systems to face the future challenges of humanity, particularly those in third world countries. He is especially interested in applications that will benefit society, such as autonomous UAVs for rescue missions, wildlife protection, and fire extinguishment. Before coming to Stanford, he served for 6 years as a Captain and an Engineer in the Israeli Air Force, where he led the development of novel UAVs in collaboration with world leading industries and IAF’s elite intelligence and operational units, for which he received several awards. Aviad is a semi professional powerlifter and bodybuilder, participating in national championships and coaching other athletes.
