Kathleen (Kat) Medill, from Lincoln, Nebraska, is pursuing a master’s degree in electrical engineering at Stanford’s School of Engineering. She graduated from the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. After completing her studies at Stanford, Kat will attend pilot training and become a pilot in the United States Air Force. She aspires to combine her knowledge of engineering with her practical experiences as a pilot to become a leader in the development of a new generation of military systems. She conducted research to improve shared-autonomy algorithms for tele-operated assistive devices as part of the Robotics Institute Summer Scholars program at Carnegie Mellon University. She also worked as a cybersecurity intern at the headquarters of the National Security Agency. Additionally, Kat competed in two intercollegiate sports, volleyball and track and field, and served as a captain of the track and field team.
