Natalya Linglingay Rañeses Ritter, from Salt Lake City, Utah, is pursuing a JD at Stanford Law School. Ling graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Princeton University with a bachelor’s degree in politics and a certificate in French. She aspires to design institutional reforms that increase access to the fundamental protections and opportunities of fully-fledged membership in the American body politic. As associate director of the Utah Center for Legal Inclusion, Ling helped Utah’s legal profession reflect and serve underrepresented communities. Ling also co-founded Kalos Academy, a nonprofit expanding educational opportunity, and the Filipino American National Historical Society – Utah Chapter. At Princeton, Ling performed jazz music, served as co-editor-in-chief of the Asian American Studies Journal, and strengthened the transparency and fairness of Princeton’s honor system. Her thesis on the legal construction of race received the Princeton Prize in Race Relations and the Philo Sherman Bennett Prize in Politics.
