Madison Maloney

Madison Maloney, from Greenville, North Carolina, is pursuing a master’s degree in aeronautics and astronautics at Stanford School of Engineering. She graduated from North Carolina State University (NCSU) with a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering. Madison aspires to advance American air and space capabilities by serving at the intersection of aerospace engineering and operations. As an intern at the NASA Johnson Space Center, she performed thermal analysis for the Orion spacecraft in the Thermal Design Branch and contributed to crew training and real-time ISS operations in the Extravehicular Activity Branch, earning the Pathways Intern Award for distinguished performance both rotations. She was a US delegate in the Space Cooperation group of the Stanford US-Russia Forum, a research assistant in NCSU’s Systems Design Optimization Lab, research intern at the NASA Langley Research Center, President of the NCSU chapter of Sigma Gamma Tau, and NCSU’s Student Government Director of Athletics. She is a Goldwater Scholar, Astronaut Scholar, Coca-Cola Scholar, and Park Scholar, was awarded the NCSU College of Engineering Senior Award for Scholarly Achievement, and is a private pilot. Madison conducts research in Stanford’s GPS Lab and plans to pursue a commission in the United States Air Force via Officer Training School.
