Andrew Shu, from State College, Pennsylvania, is pursuing a master’s degree in international policy at Stanford School of Humanities and Sciences. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy with bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and Chinese. Andrew aspires to dedicate his career to the issue of the widening Sino-American economic intelligence gap between the US and China, and to enhance America’s national security as a Navy Cryptologic Warfare Officer. He interned at Johns Hopkins’ National Security Analysis Department, at The Joint Chiefs of Staff Strategy, Plans and Policy Directorate, and at the National Reconnaissance Office’s Mission Integration Directorate. At the Naval Academy, he was battalion academics officer of the 5th Battalion, and the director of academics for the Naval Academy Foreign Affairs Conference. He was also a jib trimmer with the Navy’s varsity offshore sailing team.
