Niyyah Barber

Niyyah Barber, from Mansfield, Texas, is pursuing a JD at Stanford Law School. At Cornell University, she earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial and labor relations. She aspires to combine her expertise in the fields of sports, labor advocacy, and disability studies to create meaningful change for marginalized groups. Niyyah has interned in baseball operations for the Houston Astros, in labor relations at Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, and in labor and employment law at Proskauer Rose. She spent a semester abroad at American University in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. At Cornell, she was editor-in-chief of Perspectives: The Cornell Undergraduate Disability Studies Journal; was vice president of the Black Ivy Pre-Law Society, which addresses the lack of diversity in law; and received a Frank and Rosa Rhodes Scholarship as well as the Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence.
