Nancy Xu, from Fremont, California, is pursuing a PhD in computer science at Stanford School of Engineering and a master’s degree in business administration at Stanford Graduate School of Business. She graduated with honors from Stanford with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and computer science. Her work focuses on practical applications of AI that enable human potential in businesses, healthcare, sustainability, etc. Previously, Nancy built AI products at Alpha Health and worked on strategy at Illumina as the youngest person reporting to the CEO. She also interned at Facebook, McKinsey&Company, and Neighborly. She is the founder of The Gradient, an AI publication that features cutting-edge AI research for industry leaders and practitioners, and a strong advocate for diversity for which she has served as president of Stanford Women in CS and Stanford ACM. As an angel investor, Nancy is passionate about working with and supporting visionary, ambitious founders on societally impactful missions.
